Ashmore House Independent Living Centre
Ashmore is situated 2 minutes away from Magee University and the Northwest Institute, where some of our young people are studying. It is just a few minutes walks to the heart of the maiden city and there are regular public transport links.
Derry is a vibrant and energetic city, which boasts a range of leisure and recreation facilities. All local facilities and amenities such as shopping, restaurants, fitness suites, healthcare, multi-denomination churches, riverside walks, parks and many more are within walking distance of Ashmore House.
Our Independent Living Centre has 4 self-contained flats and 15 rooms all of which are modern and furnished to a high specification and are fully accessible. We also have a communal kitchen and common room and each floor. We have a laundry room and a fully functioning training room where our young people have access to the Internet and IT training.
Staff are welcoming, approachable, and will do whatever they can to make you feel at home and valued. We offer benefits advice, budgeting, careers advice, cooking skills, healthy eating programs, health, and safety awareness, as well as IT training. These skills will enable you as a young person to reach your independent status!
Our services are aimed at both able-bodied and disabled young people ranging from 16-35.
